Able to communicate effectively as part of a team and project manage large and small productions ensuring quality output, meeting client objectives, specifications, budgets and deadlines. Looking for a suitable electronic/software engineering position involving hardware and software design and implementation.

Professional Work Experience

2013 - Current --- Linux Administration & Research

Hosting & administrating websites and e-mail on VPS using Linux Apache MySql PHP (LAMP). Research and Development of a number of personal projects focusing on Optimized Distributed Processing, over multiple Operating Systems and Architectures.

2005 - 2013 --- Self Employed Traditional Carpenter - T/A South Downs Green Wood Centre

  • Joinery and Installation
Using Hand and Power tools to cut traditional joinery from large section UK grown Hard and Softwoods. Raising and installing Buildings, Bridges and Fences and Outdoor Furniture.

Communicating between Architects, Structural Engineers, Clients and Local Authorities. Using 2D & 3D CAD to graphically describe what can be achieved.

2004 - 2005 --- Morgan Automation Ltd - Electronic & Software Engineer

  • Software Development
Hardware Control and UI Software design and implementation in embedded Visual C++ on a Geode PC/104 for the NT1000 radio-frequency thermal lesioning medical equipment. Innovative aspects including the ability to design a temperature profile for the machine to follow and carry out three lesions at the same time previously unseen in the market place. Risks analysed and software was written and controlled to confirm to EN 60601-1-4 “Requirements for Safety” within an ISO9001:1994 “Quality Systems Manufacturing Environment”
  • Hard/Software Debugging
Debugging and tracing of logical errors and out of tolerance errors throughout the system. Using Digital and Analogue Oscilloscopes and application specific developed debugging software.
  • Test Harness Development
Working with the Production test Engineer to design the test equipment and procedures necessary to enable each production unit to be tested.
  • Documentation & Handover
Completed full documentation for both system user and software development for subsequent Software Engineer to continue the Production and Maintenance phase of the project.
  • Fault Finding & Maintenance
Continued maintenance of Dial telephone controlled lighting management system involving field testing and repair of hardware and software where very little software and hardware documentation existed. Debugging and adjustment to legacy MASM x86 assembler code and customer telephone support. Recommended future designs of upgrading control system to QNX with modern RS485 line transceivers and micro-controllers (PIC)
